Abstract

The vulnerabilities of youth to climate change impacts require targeted interventions that prioritize their needs, rights, and participation. This includes providing access to education, healthcare, and social support services, empowering youth as agents of change in climate action efforts, and addressing social inequities and structural barriers that exacerbate their vulnerabilities. By investing in youth's resilience, well-being, and participation, societies can build more sustainable and inclusive responses to climate change that benefit current and future generations. Understanding these direct and indirect impacts, as well as the vulnerabilities of youths to climate change, is essential for developing targeted interventions and support systems to promote resilience and well-being in the face of environmental challenges. In conclusion, the discussion and interpretation of the case study findings underscore the urgent need for holistic, multi-disciplinary approaches to address the mental health needs of youths in Phalga LGA in the context of climate change. By integrating research insights into policy and practice, promoting community engagement and empowerment, and fostering collaboration across sectors, stakeholders can work together to promote resilience, well-being, and sustainability in the face of environmental challenges. Through a detailed discussion and interpretation of the case study findings, researchers can provide valuable insights into the complex dynamics of climate change impacts on youth mental health and inform evidence-based interventions and policy responses to support youth well-being in Phalga LGA and beyond.
