Abstract

John Keats, a major poet of the Romantic period, is known for his deep appreciation of beauty in nature and art. His idea of beauty goes beyond just physical appearance; he believes that beauty has a lasting impact on the human spirit. In his famous line, "A thing of beauty is a joy forever," Keats suggests that once we experience beauty, its effect stays with us forever, bringing comfort and joy. His poems, such as Ode on a Grecian Urn, Ode to a Nightingale, and Endymion, reflect his belief that beauty provides an escape from the harsh realities of life, offering a sense of peace and timelessness. For Keats, beauty also holds deeper emotional meaning, as it often appears alongside feelings of sadness and mortality. His poetry shows that beauty, even in fleeting moments, can provide a sense of eternal peace and inspiration.
