Abstract

Literature reminds us about the creation of stories with facts and adventures of a particular time and period mostly those values are treasured in the form of emotions and ethical effects. Technology is a science as well as an art. Many authors and scientists have played an important role in promoting human values, but the outcome of science has not reached its full strength without the technological machinery with its applications. We live in such a time of science and technology, and people who understand a rather outward view of recent-day developments and begin to experience the technology of the future. Thus, the importance of literature seems to be poor and neglected. Science knows and affects human lives at many stages but its usage is determined by our culture and tradition. Nevertheless, literature stirs up the minds and hearts of the times and it is conditioned by the reflexes which in turn are created by the impact of technology. Technology dominates the world and the domination is likely to become more pronounced in the future because the past developments may end creative human thinking and expressions. This would put literature in a feeble place in the future. It is believed that the routine way of life by which we are controlled and managed by more computers and electronic devices of all kinds will eventually saturate the innovative minds of writers, poets, and authors. Social media, mobile apps, etc., have greatly impacted students of the times in their thinking and behavior affecting their listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills. The present paper focuses on “The Affect of Technology on Literature”.
