Abstract

AI is shaking up everything from healthcare to finance, education, and cybersecurity. It speeds things up, makes predictions smarter, and helps people make better decisions. At the same time, there’s a dark side: bias, privacy breaches, cybercrime, and tough ethical questions. This review pulls together the latest research, policy updates, and real-world examples from 2024 and 2025 to show how AI brings both huge opportunities and serious risks. Data from the OECD, Pew Research Center, and HealthTech Magazine all point in the same direction: AI use is exploding, but laws and policies aren’t keeping up. One thing’s obvious—if we want AI to help society instead of hurt it, we need clear, strong, and international rules.
