Small Scale Business Operators Assessment of Soft Skills Required Of Universities Vocational Education Graduates for Employability in Nigeria

Abstract

The study focused on small scale business operators assessment of soft skills required of universities vocational education graduates for employability. The study espoused survey design that is descriptive in nature. The study focused on a target demographic of 68,735 small scale company owners in Nigeria. A purposing sampling procedure/technique was utilised to select 6,891 small-scale business operators. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire consisting of 75 items. The questionnaire consisted of two sections: Part A included 6 items about the demographic data of the respondents, such as the name of their firm, location, sex, rank, job experience, and number of employees. Part B consisted of a total of 70 pieces, with 35 items founded on Research Question 1 and another 35 items for Research Question 2. The questionnaire was designed with a 4-point scale for responses, ranging from Very High Extent (4 points) to High Extent (3 points), Low Extent (2 points), and Very Low Extent (1 point).
