Abstract

This paper critically examines the shifting economic frameworks underpinning Israel’s policies toward Gaza, focusing on the progression from an occupation-based economy to a genocidal economic system. It analyses how systemic resource exploitation, economic dependency, and militarised profiteering sustain Israeli dominance over Palestinian land, labour, and resources within the broader context of settler-colonial capitalism. The study explores the escalation into a “genocide economy,” characterised by deliberate destruction, displacement, and dehumanisation aimed at annihilating Palestinian society for political and economic gains. It elucidates the interconnectedness of occupation and genocide economies, emphasising how policies of weaponised deprivation, demographic engineering, and systemic destruction perpetuate a cycle of dependency, vulnerability, and violence.
