Staff Training as a Factor Influencing Service Delivery in Academic Libraries in Ondo State, Nigeria
Abstract
This study investigated staff training as a factor influencing Service Delivery in academic libraries in Ondo State. The survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study is made up of library personnel in different academic libraries in Ondo state. Total enumeration sampling technique was used to capture a total of 227 library staff. A structured questionnaire was used for the study with a retrieval of 208 copies which constitute 91% return rate. Data were analysed using both descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The findings of the study revealed the types of training programmes mostly available to library staff in the study area as computer based training, Workshop and seminar, Conferences attendance and Formal Professional education while study visit and coaching/mentoring were least.
