Invisible Wounds: Parental Ignorance and Emotional Trauma in Modern Hindi Cinema
Abstract
Not all wounds are visible, and the ones caused at home often hurt the most. This paper investigates the emotional trauma caused by neglect, favoritism, conditional love, and identity suppression in contemporary Hindi cinema. Through the deeply personal journeys of Ishaan (Taare Zameen Par), Kaira (Dear Zindagi), Veera (Highway), and Arjun and Rahul (Kapoor & Sons), the study reveals how families can become the very spaces where children are unseen, unheard, or forced to become someone they are not.
