Pagtataya ng mga Gurong Mag-aaral sa mga Salik Kung Bakit Nahihirapan ang mga Sekundaryang Mag-aaral sa Pag-aaral ng Araling Panlipunan
Abstract
There are many factors that can be identified as the reasons why students have difficulty learning Social Studies. Regardless of those factors, the teacher plays a major role in ensuring that the knowledge is conveyed and the competence of the students is developed. Based on the aforementioned background, the study aimed to determine the assessment of student-teachers from the College of Education of the Bataan Peninsula State University on the factors why secondary students have difficulty learning Social Studies based on personal/student, teacher, and school factors. Using the descriptive research design, sixty-five (65) student-teachers were purposively selected and served as respondents in the survey questionnaire that garnered a Content Validity Index (CVI) of 0.98 (excellent) and had a reliability of α=0.8524 (good). Based on the assessment of student-teachers, the students have great difficulty in learning Social Studies based on teacher and school factors and also have difficulty based on student factor. Significant differences were also recorded in the assessment of student-teachers, which showed variations in their perspectives on the factors why students have difficulty learning Social Studies.
