Examining the Impact of Rwanda Gender Equality Policies in Education to the Girl’s Promotion of Education
Abstract
The education of girls serves as a catalyst for the advancement of other rights, resulting in positive impacts on their health, the well-being of their families, a nation's economic prosperity, and civic participation. The education of girls is closely connected to economic development. However, in developing countries, girls lag behind boys in terms of access to education. This clearly indicates the significant inequality and challenges faced by girls, negatively impacting the progress of rural communities they belong to. This research aims to explore how Rwanda's policies on girls' education contribute to the girl’s enrolment in education institutions. Specifically, the study aims to identify the different policies, institutions, legal frameworks, and key outcomes related to girls' education. Only secondary data sources were utilized for this study, including books, articles, newspapers, and academic documents.
