Abstract

This study investigates the critical role of Electronic Human Resource Management (e-HRM) in sustaining higher education operations during wartime, focusing on the Islamic University of Gaza (IUG) as a case study. Amid the devastating 2023-24 war, which destroyed infrastructure and disrupted academic activities, IUG leveraged e-HRM systems to maintain core functions. Using a qualitative case-study approach, the research analyses IUG’s adaptive strategies, including cloud-based HR tools, remote collaboration platforms, and digital payroll solutions, while comparing them with resilience models from other conflict zones (e.g., Ukraine, Syria).
