Abstract

This study evaluates the websites of Indian publishers from the perspective of library professionals, focusing on their usability, content offerings, and e-commerce capabilities. The research analyzes 31 websites affiliated with the Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP), covering aspects such as subject specialization, payment modes, special features, and digital accessibility. Data collection involved systematic observation of these websites, followed by content analysis using statistical tools. Findings reveal that while some publishers offer comprehensive digital services, many lack essential features, affecting accessibility and user experience. Recommendations are provided to enhance website functionality, aiming to foster a more user-friendly digital environment for libraries and readers alike.
