Abstract

Inclusion at workplace has today become a contemporary buzz which leads the need for enabling diverse social strata to be a part of the corporate world. One such key social category are the people with disabilities (PWDs) specially in a developing country like Sri Lanka where the corporate inclusion is vital in the long run. This research study aims to identify how people with disabilities and inclusion at workplace assessed through key elements of relationship, shared experience and transparency. The research design followed positivism through a deductive reasoning approach in order to conduct a quantitative study following a mono-method by undertaking a case study approach. The cross-sectional study was conducted using a questionnaire as the primary data collection method. The study population is employees at Pizza Hut, Thimbirigasaya where a sample of 24 employees were taken following simple random sampling technique. The data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS statistical data processing where the relationship between the variables were assessed using the Pearson correlation and Chi-square tests. According to the statistical results, a strong positive relationship was identified between shared experience and inclusion of people with disabilities (PWDs) while a moderate positive relationship was identified between relationships and transparency with inclusion of people with disabilities (PWDs).
