Abstract

The study evaluates the relationship between work-life balance and employee performance of female staff at Achievers University Owo, Ondo state. Long-Working Hours (LWH), Leisure or Relaxation Time (LRT) and Stress Level (SL) were used to examine the relationship between work-life balance and employees' performance (EP). Using the sample size of 105 questionnaires were administered to female staff of the institution only while 98 were retrieved for analysis. A correlational research design was adopted for the study while Descriptive statistics, correlation and multiple regression alongside ANOVA were carried out for data analysis using SPSS (26). The results revealed that LWH shows a positive and significant relationship with EP; LRT reveals a negative and significant relationship with EP while SL was positive and insignificantly related to EP. In conclusion, it was discovered that work-life balance is significantly related to employees' performance if the institution provides better organizational practices that will reduce stress and health challenges for female staff in other to enhance their performance. It was therefore recommended that the institution should provide a quality working schedule that the female staff would benefit from to reduce stress and workload. Also, they should provide vacation periods for female staff in the institution and finally, female staff should create a strategy in reducing stress at the workplace for better performance.
