Abstract

Christian Witnessing aims to see people come to Christ Jesus and be formed into appropriate biblical and cultural groups called churches. Culture, on the other hand, is an intrinsic aspect of every human society; hence, it plays a dominant role in shaping orientations and influencing every stratum of life, be it social, political, economic, or religious. The fact that evangelism or biblical teaching, commonly referred to as witnessing, can only function within an existing culture and there are multicultural existences, has made modern churches question how mission can successfully be carried out in a multicultural context. To comprehend the dynamics involved in evangelism within multicultural environments, this research aims to identify the primary challenges faced by evangelists in their endeavor to contextualize the message of the Gospel, the effects of contextualization on African culture, and its usefulness on the Christian faith through an in-depth literature review of qualitative research.
