Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology and the ubiquity of social media have significantly impacted Pastoral ministry. The study explores the unique opportunities and challenges that arise from integrating technology and social media in Pastoral care and leadership in the African context. Drawing from qualitative data collected through interviews and focus groups, the study delves into the African concept and culture that shapes the understanding of the utilization of digital tools in Pastoral ministry. The objective of the study is to explore and analyze how technology and social media are integrated into the Pastoral ministry within the African context. By examining current practices, successes, and failures in technology usage in pastoral ministry, the study suggests how African Pastors can utilize technology and social media to improve community building, discipleship, and outreach while preserving the authenticity and personal connection of traditional Pastoral care.
