The Role of Micro biomes in Human Cognitive Function and Mental Health
Abstract
Traditionally, the human microbiome, with particular reference to the gut microbiota, highlighted its role in digestion and immune responses. However, a series of contradicting reports have suggested recent breakthrough evidence that eponymous axis can modify brain functions, behaviors, or mental health. This gut-brain axis- as it is now getting defined-is simply a bi-lateral function to a essential end, usually evolving neural, hormonal, immune, and metabolic axes to connect the gastrointestinal environment to the CNS processes.
