Abstract

Introduction: Climate change is increasingly recognized as a critical global issue, affecting various sectors of society. Women, especially those in underprivileged and marginalized communities, face disproportionate impacts due to gender-specific social, economic, and physiological factors. This review focuses on women's vulnerability, resource access, and health outcomes, exploring the factors that intensify these inequalities. Methods: A narrative review methodology was employed to analyze studies from databases such as PubMed and ScienceDirect, following PRISMA guidelines. Results and Discussion: The findings indicate that climate change exacerbates women's health challenges, particularly in relation to extreme weather, food shortages, water scarcity, and mental health issues. Women in impoverished and rural areas are especially vulnerable. The review underscores the urgent need for gender-sensitive policies to address these disparities. Conclusion: A comprehensive approach, considering both social and environmental factors, is essential to mitigate the disproportionate effects of climate change on women’s health and well-being.
