Enhancing the English Language Skills of Zilla Parishad High School Students of Jogulamba Gadwala District
Abstract
Effective communication in English is crucial for academic and professional success. However, students in rural government schools, particularly in Zilla Parishad High Schools (ZPHS) of Jogulamba Gadwal District, face significant challenges in acquiring proficiency due to limited exposure, inadequate resources, and traditional teaching methods.
This study examines the impact of integrating digital tools, interactive learning strategies, and context-based pedagogy to enhance students’ speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills. Using a mixed-method research design—comprising surveys, pre- and post-assessments, and interviews with students and teachers—the study evaluates the effectiveness of these interventions. Findings indicate that technology-enhanced learning and communicative teaching methods substantially improve language proficiency, boosting students' confidence and employability.
This research contributes to the discourse on language education in rural government schools and offers recommendations for sustainable language enhancement programs.
