Problems and Challenges in Online Education during COVID-19 Pandemic in India

Abstract

This article studies the challenges and effectiveness of online education in India during COVID-19 pandemic. The responses of 200 students and 42 teachers have been analysed to understand their problems and challenges and to make the online education more effective. A substantial number of respondents found online teaching/learning tiring. Many complained about poor internet connectivity and lack of training and gave some useful suggestions to improve the quality of online classes.  This work highlights the need of better technical and pedagogical training and psychological grooming of teachers and students in India.
